Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)
MOPS and More
Are you the mom of an infant, a toddler, a preschooler, or an elementary age child? If so, MOPS and MORE may be just what you are looking for! MOPS is an international organization established to provide a caring atmosphere for today’s mothers of preschoolers. In order to include the moms whose children are moving on to elementary school, our chapter re-named itself MOPS and MORE. This group offers women opportunities to build relationships with other mothers, while celebrating motherhood and promoting the slogan “mothering matters”. Monthly meetings include speakers and/or discussions on inspirational and informative topics, time for questions and concerns, and time for snacking and socializing. Childcare is provided free of charge. The main meeting is held the second Tuesday of the month from September through May at 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM. A supplemental morning meeting takes place on the fourth Tuesday of those months from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM. Additionally, the moms often plan a “girls night out” for dinner or a movie and arrange play dates for their children. In June the entire family gets together for a potluck picnic at a park or other off-site location. We always welcome newcomers! Just show up for a meeting or call Lea Larsen, Mentor Mom, at 540-297-7053 for more information.
